Ingenium Timing Chains

The timing chains are among the most important components of the Ingenium JLR engine.

They control the timing of the internal combustion engine by synchronising the camshaft and crankshaft as they rotate. Over time, the chains can “stretch” as the metal wears down, so the chains can eventually snap – this can cause very serious and very costly damage to your engine. That’s why you should always get your Ingenium Timing Chains replaced at the manufacturer’s recommended intervals – this tends to be around 60,000 miles.
